Practice Policy
Develop a policy on the collection of information on a patient’s sexual orientation, gender identity, and intersex status, and the inclusion of key relationships. Policy should also cover who is authorised to collect this information.
Staff training
Train identified staff how to collect information on a consumer’s sexual orientation, gender identity, intersex status, and relationships.
Rights and Responsibilities document
Develop or update existing document describing the patient’s rights and responsibilities demonstrating LGBTI-inclusive practice in information collection, storage, use and disclosure.
Current practice review
Review forms within the practice to ensure adherence to the “guide to taking an inclusive sexual history”
